Michael Steirman, CPA
Michael brings over 20 years of experience in the world of public accounting to the firm. Having worked for a mid-size firm as well as Deloitte prior to starting the firm seven years ago, Michael has serviced clients in a wide range of industry including real estate, technology, apparel and accessory , food and beverage, restaurants and retail stores. Michael has always had a passion for small business and entrepreneurs and brings that passion to each client which the firm services. Taking a hands on approach, Michael acts as an accountant and tax preparer to the client, as well as a business advisor.
Shawn Herget, CPA
Shawn, a graduate of Ramapo College, has passed all four parts of the CPA exam and is a licensed CPA in New Jersey. Shawn provides a hands on approach with clients where he is able to use his systems expertise to properly implement and assist clients in building and maintaining their accounting systems. Shawn is well versed in taxation including individual , corporate and partnership taxation. Shawn is also expecting his first child in March 2019 :).
Ed Carney
Ed Carney, who is completing his accounting degree at Montclair College, brings a great deal of accounting experience from private industry to the firm. Ed is also proficient in information technology and helps clients with their accounting systems as well as working on the firm's infrastructure. Ed has become an expert in giving strong tax advice and preparing financial statements for our clients.
Our Staff
Cathy Colby Rivera
Cathy has been with the firm from it's inception. Cathy specializes in payroll and sales tax and provides support in these areas to the business clients of the firm. She is an expert in dealing with the state and federal authorities and has helped numerous clients resolve their tax issues and takes pride in bringing clients into compliance and maintaining compliance for existing clients.
Victoria Carbajal (Senior Accountant)
Vicky works with clients at the firm in a variety of industries and has over five years of accounting and bookkeeping experience. She works closely with business clients to ensure that they keep an accurate set of books and records. Vicky also works on individual, corporate and partnership tax returns.
Artur Tagayev (Senior Accountant)
Artur joins the firm after working for a public accounting firm in New York City. His attention to detail and knowledge of accountinga and tax has made him a tremendous asset to the firm. He welcomes the opportunity to work with small businesses and their owners and to make an impact by helping them with their accounting and tax needs.
Esmerlin Rivera-Paz (Accountant)
After years in private accounting, Esmerlin is at the firm to complete his dream of becoming a certified public accountant. He has developed his bookkeeping, accounting and tax skills and is an integral part of the firm.
Jose Hernandez (Senior Accountant)
Jose joined the firm in 2018 after years in private accounting and hit the ground running. He handles client’s accounts in many industries and has a great working knowledge with clients who handle inventories and accounts receivable and accounts payable. He is solid with spreadsheets and income and cash flow projections and is a rising star at the firm.
Kate Bray
Kate joined the firm in early 2018 and is the head administrative person at the firm. She handles client maintenance and billing as well as assisting clients form companies, deal with various tax notices and most importantly keeps the firm organized. Kate is critical to the success of the firm and the service we provide to our clients.
Elena Johannessen (Accountant)
After working for a tax preparation organization, Elena joined the firm in 2018 to learn more about accounting and to become a certified public accountant. Her attention to detail and work ethic make her a great asset to the firm.
